Back from Richmond CodeCamp....it was great. Frank LaVigne & Company put on an impressive show. Double thumbs-up to them.
Every set of attendees is impressive, but I'd have to say the people who came to listen were some of the sharpest I've met.
For folks who attended my first session (What's new in ADO.NET 2.0/T-SQL 2005), you can find them on my site , in the downloads area. (It's 2 separate downloads).
The code and slides from my second session (T-SQL 2005 for Developers) will be up in a day or so. I had problems getting back to Allentown and didn't get home until Sunday night! No matter how many lanes are on the I-95, it's never enough.
Had dinner with Frank and Don Demsak (Don XML) on Saturday night. Don filled me in on something - MS optimized SQL 2005 when developers use Dynamic SQL.
Now...I don't pull out the crucifix when I see Dynamic SQL code; however, I usually look for other solutions first. I only ever use Dynamic SQL in a closed manner inside the SQL environment, so my reasons for abandonong it a few years ago were due to performance. But now I'm curious. Stay tuned.
Don's a cool guy - always has food for thought.
Thanks to everyone who attended my sessions, and thanks to Frank for all his efforts.
Now playing - Charlier Parker. The man was a genius.
Peace out...KG
